Steve Ford
Steve is an expert in the biosurgery product space (hemostats, sealants, orthobiologics) leading marketing, strategy and business development at companies that include Baxter, Biom’Up and Mallinckrodt, prior to Medcura. At Baxter, Steve grew global Floseal sales to over $350M, launched 8 new products, and championed the acquisition of 3 biosurgery companies. At Mallinckrodt, Steve led the divestiture of two biosurgery products to Baxter. At Biom’up, Steve won the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Platinum Award for the launch of Hemoblast Bellows. At both Biom'up and Mallinckrodt, Steve was instrumental in recruiting, training, and deploying large independent sales teams for US launches. As a consultant, Steve has assisted over 15 biosurgery companies prepare for and execute successful launches. Steve also has significant device experience in a wide range of surgical specialties and held management positions at Alphatec Spine, Ethicon, CR Bard, Allergan, and Abbott. Throughout Steve’s 30-year career, he has led and participated on over 75 product development teams and has launched over 100 medical devices. Steve is an innovative problem solver and holds patents on medical devices that have grossed well over $ 1 billion in sales. Steve holds a B.S. in Marketing from California State University (CA).
