Hemostatic bone putty
Efficient Bone Bleed Suppression
LifePutty is a ready-to-use and moldable hemostatic bone putty composed of modified chitosan that is used to control bone bleeding in cardiothoracic and orthopedic surgeries. Consistent with all LIFE™ Surgical Portfolio formulations, the putty also includes the benefit of the inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan.
LifePutty is undergoing feasibility studies, and has yet to be evaluated by the FDA.
By providing a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, on contact with bone, the hydrophobically modified chitosan putty allows for mucoadhesion to wet tissue, creating a barrier that is designed to stop bleeding. LifePutty is designed to be absorbable and not impede bone healing.*
- Engineered to safely absorb in the body
- Ready-to-use
- Easy to mold and apply to bleeding bone surfaces
- Offers inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan
