Expanding Hemostatic Foam
TACKLE SEVERE NON-COMPRESSIBLE LARGE CAVITY BLEEDING
LifeFoam is a ready-to-use, expanding hemostatic foam in a syringe or spray form, composed of modified chitosan designed to stop bleeding during trauma, orthopedic and plastic surgery bleeding scenarios. Consistent with all LifeTM Surgical Portfolio formulations, the foam also includes the benefit of inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan.
LifeFoam is undergoing feasibility studies, and has yet to be evaluated by the FDA.
By providing a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, on contact with fluids, modified chitosan expanding foam allows for mucoadhesion of chitosan to wet tissue, creating a barrier that stops bleeding and features the inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan.
