Hemostatic Powder
DESIGNED FOR MINIMAL MILD AND MODERATE SURGICAL BLEEDING
LifeCoat is a powdered version of Medcura’s hydrophobically modified chitosan, that is delivered by a bellows applicator during surgical procedures. Market-leading absorbable hemostatic powders are expensive and not meant to handle moderate surgical bleeding.
LifeCoat is under active development, and has yet to be evaluated by the FDA.
The hydrophobically modified chitosan powder allows for mucoadhesion to wet, biological tissue, creating a barrier that is designed to stop bleeding. Consistent with all LifeTM Surgical Portfolio formulations, the powder also includes the benefit of inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan..
- Designed for minimal, mild, and moderate surgical bleeding
- Engineered to safely absorb in the body
- Ready-to-use
- Does not contain thrombin
- Offers inherent antimicrobial properties of chitosan
- Bellows application for open and laparoscopic procedures
